VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — A man who robbed a bank in Virginia Beach and posted the crime on Instagram will serve two years and 11 months in prison.
Dominyk Alfonseca was sentenced to 10 years on Monday, with seven years and on month of that sentence suspended. He will also have to receive mental health treatment, and have no contact with the bank or the teller.
Alfonseca will also have to have seven years good behavior following his prison sentence.
He says he posted a video of the 2015 robbery to Instagram in order to help his music career.
News 3’s sister station WAVY has a reporter in the courtroom and will have the latest updates on the case.
