UPDATE: West Point shooting victim dies

WEST POINT, Ga. — West Point Police confirm Dvonte Shkevious Di-Joun Tucker – the victim of Tuesday’s shooting in West Point – has died.

Police tell News 3 the shooting happened sometime before 12:30 p.m.

They say the victim went to G.H. Lanier Memorial Hospital in critical condition after being shot in the head.

The victim was then taken to UAB Birmingham Hospital, where he died.

An initial investigation shows that the shooting happened in the 1200 block of East 14th St. in West Point.

The West Point Police Department does not have a suspect in custody and are currently looking for any information that can help them in this investigation.
