This weekend’s highlighted event is the 21 Guns Memorial Day Workout in honor of fallen troops on Memorial Day.
The workout is 21 minutes of as many rounds you can do of: a 400 meter run, 21 push-ups, 21 box jumps, 15 burpees and 9 pull-ups.
Dennis Smith is the owner of Uncommon Athlete. Since Uncommon Athlete is closed on Memorial Day, the work out is this Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. edt at Uncommon Athlete in Uptown Columbus.
“Five represents the five branches of service: army, navy, air force, marines and coast gaurd. And the 21 is the 21 gun salute for the fallen. The honors of anyone that’s been killed or buried in the military service is 21 guns. So the workout is called 21 guns on Memorial Day on the 21st for the five branches of service,” says Smith.
Anyone is welcome to come for the free work out – just show up at Uncommon Athlete (1205 1st Ave, Columbus) by 8:15 a.m. edt.
