ATLANTA, Ga — A Guatemalan man is in custody after U.S. Customs officials caught him with $600 thousand worth of cocaine.
Customs agents at Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport say they were inspecting the man’s bags Friday when they found a white powdery substance on the inside. They say they later tested the substance and discovered it was cocaine.
Officials say they seized over 26 pounds of the drug.
Investigators say the man was headed to New York City, but he is not being held by officials in Clayton County.
