Nike Basketball has created the hashtag #MambaDay to commemorate Kobe Bryant’s last day on the court. The “Black Mamba” will play as an NBA player for the last time Wednesday night in the Lakers vs.Utah Jazz game. Bryant will end his 20 year career at the age of 37.

Nike’s #MambaDay trend gives anyone the opportunity to say a “last word”.

 

Ben Affleck to direct new Batman Movie

Warner Bros. confirms Ben Affleck will be both directing and starring as the Caped Crusader in a stand alone Batman movie. Warner Bros. CEO Kevin Tsujihara announces at Las Vegas’ CinemaCon on Tuesday that Affleck will also star in the first of the upcoming Justice League films which will be released next year.

Fans got their first taste of Ben Affleck as Batman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice which premiered March 25.

 

Billionare Sean Parker donates $250 million to cancer research

Napster founder and first Facebook president Sean Parker announces Wednesday he will be using a $250 million grant to speed development of effective cancer treatments. His initiative, , will include over 40 laboratories and more than 300 researchers from six key cancer centers: New York’s Memorial Sloan Kettering, Stanford Medicine, the University of California, Los Angeles, the University of California, San Francisco, Houston’s University of Texas MD Anderson and the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.

Parker says he wants to fostering collaboration among leading researchers and make sure that any breakthrough at one lab is shared openly with them all.
