COLUMBUS, Ga. – The Columbus City Council may demolish 16 dilapidated homes in the city. Council estimates the project to cost around $115,000. Homeowners can appeal the decision and can be given a chance to fix the condition of their home.
The homeowners can also contract to have the house demolished. However, if the city does it, the owner will be billed for the work.
A lien will be placed on the homeowner’s property if they do not pay.
