Authorities ID man killed in Lee County crash

UPDATE – Authorities have identified the 24-year-old man killed in a car crash Friday afternoon.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency says Dakota Roberts was killed when his 2000 Ford Explorer left the road and overturned around 2:00 p.m. They say Roberts was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate the crash.

LEE COUNTY, Ala. – Lee County Sheriff Jay Jones confirms to News 3 that a single vehicle crash with a fatality occurred this afternoon.

The crash happened on Lee Road 240 near the Solid Waste Treatment Plant.

Sheriff Jones says the victim was a 24-year-old male, but won’t release the name at this time.
