The weather definitely won’t be an excuse to miss of this weekend’s outdoor events.
This evening at 5:30 p.m. edt is the official opening and ribbon cutting of Sweetland Amphitheatre in LaGrange! A free concert will follow the ceremony from 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. est.
Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m. kicks off Spring Fling/Roosevelt Days with a parade. Enjoy arts, crafts and free entertainment Saturday and Sunday in Warm Springs.
Check out some crafty ‘kidpreneurs’ and vendors at the Crayons, Crafts, and Kool Kids Outdoor Vending Fair Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in Uptown Columbus.
This weekend’s highlighted events are wrapping up Artbeat 2016.
The weekend starts with the unveiling of Mike Howard’s postcard mural of Columbus as the Banks Building Friday around 5:00 p.m. est.
The festival with 1,000 pounds of Louisiana crawfish and music starts Friday 6:00 p.m. through 11:00 p.m. est and all day Saturday. There is a $10 entry fee.
There will also be more music on the 1100th block of Broadway by the party band Satin Finish from 7:00 p.m. to 10 p.m. est Friday.
Rick McKnight is the Community Support Officer for RiverCenter and Artbeat 2016’s chairman. He says this weekend there’s an event for everyone.
“Kids, old people, young people, arts lovers, people who love beer, people who love crawdads – I mean it runs the gamut in this beautiful section of our town.
It’s incredible where the arts, entertainment, education converge together. That’s the whole point of Artbeat,” says McKnight.
