Masters Attractions Extend Beyond Augusta National Golf Club’s Borders

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF)  – Masters Week is a tradition unlike any other. It’s also an experience unlike any other down Washington Road.

Tour vans line up in The Masters Plaza parking lot off Washington Road. The Titleist tour van serves as a portable proshop for players like Adam Scott and Jordan Spieth. It’s where they’ll get their clubs adjusted before the tournament. “It’s the first major of the year. It’s a major unlike any other. It’s a week unlike any other,” said director of communications for Titleist, Joe Gomes.

That’s why Gomes says it’s important for the Titleist team to make sure everyone’s equipment is up to par. From Grinding to re-gripping, patrons can stop by to see what all goes on behind the scenes while the players prep up for the Masters Tournament. “They stick their head in and they say what’s going on and they’re amazed with what goes on and what we can build back here. Sometimes they’ll run into a player or caddies of a player and strike up a conversation with them. So, it’s a good day for them,” said Gomes.

People seeking some downtime can grab a day pass to a hospitality tent like Gate 6 Hospitality for $200. “They could come here and hang out for a few hours and go over The Masters and enjoy a day. We have great people, great food, open bar everything you want to be at a great hospitality event,” said employee Dave Williams.

There are even places where you can find some new, original artwork to help you remember your visit to The Masters. Patrons looking for some memorabilia to take home with them from the Masters can stop by Millionaire Gallery. They have anything from $35 to $25,000 for sale.

Whatever it is, you can bank on the fact that Washington Road serves as a one-stop-shop with a little something for everyone.
