Wisconsin primary kicks off: Voters head to polls

WISCONSIN — Primary voters head to polls today to decide their party’s presidential nominee.

There are 42 Republican delegates and 86 Democratic delegates up for grabs in Wisconsin today.

The latest CBS News poll shows Ted Cruz 6 points ahead of Donald Trump in the state. Cruz representatives say a win today will increase the chances of a contested GOP convention in July.

Hillary Clinton’s campaign all sent out a fund raising email saying, quote “We’re down in almost every poll in Wisconsin — tomorrow’s primary is going to be a tough fight.” Correspondents say this looks like she has all but conceded the Wisconsin primary.

Bernie Sanders says he hopes today will give him momentum. “If we win here we’re going to have a bounce going forward into New York State, where I think we can win,” he says.
