SMITHS STATION, Ala. – On Tuesday, 500 freshmen of the Smiths Station Freshmen Center had the chance to explore career possibilities before they made their way into high school.
The school held their second annual College and Career Fair. Area schools and companies attended to provide students with a background of what their job or school entails and what it takes to become a part of it.
The school wanted to give students the chance to explore careers and schools to get them thinking about the future.
Mason McGraw, a freshman says the fair motivated him to focus even harder on school and served as preparation for the future. “It was like a big eye-opener really,” McGraw. “At this point, I really don’t know what I want to do, but it kind of leads me in different directions so I can kind of make up my mind a bit more so I can get ready for it in high school.”
