Two Opelika men arrested for fleeing police

AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn Police have arrested two from fleeing a traffic stop.

33-year-old Octaves Holstick and 44-year-old Christopher Edwards, both from Opelika were arrested. Holstick was charged with fleeing and attempting to elude, reckless endangerment and unlawful possession of a controlled substance. Edwards was charged with reckless endangerment, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

An officer on routine patrol attempted to make a traffic stop on a blue 1986 Chevrolet Monte Carlo at approximately 01:04 a.m. Tuesday at which time the vehicle fled. A brief pursuit occurred on Interstate 85 that ended at exit 58 in Opelika.

Holstick and Edwards were contacted and taken into custody and later transported to the Lee County Detention Center.
