Authorities say 24-year-old David Brown died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds to his chest. They added that Brown’s girlfriend was shot in the leg, but she was treated and released from the East Alabama Medical Center.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office believes the shooting took place after an argument over money.

After sheriff deputies arrived at the home, they were able to name Farrior as the suspect. Sheriff Jay Jones says the 38-year-old was caught within the hour. “Obviously this is the most serious type of crime that we investigate and being able to identify and apprehend an individual that we believe to be responsible is of course something that is extremely important,” Sheriff Jones said.

Sheriff Jones added that Farrior was a registered sex offender in the county and had numerous convictions, felonies and arrests prior to the incident.
