MERIWETHER COUNTY, Ga. – A former Manchester High teacher has been arrested in connection to allegations of inappropriate contact with a student.
30-year-old Brandon Scholz was arrested by Cobb County Police back on January 9 and booked into the Meriwether County Jail on charges of sexual assault of a student and criminal attempt to commit a misdemeanor.
Deputies say during the 2014/2015 school year a school resource division received information from a concerned parent that made allegations of inappropriate contact between a teacher and a student.
Meriwether County Sheriff’s Office reached out to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to help investigate the case.
Scholz was relieved of duties immediately by the Board of Education at the onset of the investigation.
