(CBS News) – A new poll out this morning from CBS News and New York Times.
- As President Barack Obama begins his last year in office, Americans are divided on his overall job rating, as they have been for most of his second term. (46% approve, 47% disapprove).
- While 52% think Mr. Obama’s performance in office has been what they expected, nearly a third says it has been worse.
- Most Americans (65%) continue to say the country is off on the wrong track.
- On a positive note for the President, 62% of Americans favor his recent executive action concerning guns. However, just 49% think it was within his authority to take this executive action.
