Weekend shooting in Auburn leaves one dead

AUBURN, Ala. – Over the weekend Auburn Police responded to a call of shots being fired in the 400 block of Webster Road.

When officers arrived on the scene they located an unresponsive adult male inside the residence with an apparent gunshot wound to the chest.

18-year-old Marquorious Rowell of Auburn received aid from paramedics on scene, but later died as a result of his injuries.

Auburn Police started an investigation and found a juvenile acquaintance still at the scene was identified as firing the weapon and taken off scene by officers.

Rowell’s body was transported to the State Medical Examiner’s office in Montgomery for an autopsy.

The case is still under investigating.
