NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – The man who climbed onto a sign over Interstate 65 in Nashville last week, shutting the road down for hours, will serve jail time.

A judge sentenced William Walters to serve a total of 20 days in jail. Waters, 46, has already served five of those days.

Walters was charged with disorderly conduct and obstructing a roadway after he climbed up onto the sign near Rosa L. Parks Blvd. last Tuesday

A negotiator eventually talked him down and he was transported to a local hospital for a mental observation. He was not physically injured.
