Man climbs sign, shuts down Tenn. interstate

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Interstate 65 is shutdown in both directions in Nashville Tuesday after a man climbed a sign above the roadway.

It happened around 3:30 p.m. at the Rosa Parks Blvd. exit near downtown Nashville.

The man’s identity remains unknown at this time, and it isn’t clear yet why he climbed the sign.

The incident could be seen from TDOT’s interstate cameras.

The roadway is expected to reopen around 5 p.m. Drivers are urged to avoid the area if possible as traffic is now backed up for miles.
