Demonstrators in Uptown demand justice

COLUMBUS, Ga. – A large group of people gathered in Uptown Saturday evening for the Fearless 40 Demonstration.  The demonstrators want justice for 20-year-old Zikarious Flint shot by a CSU police officer last March.

Demonstrators are closely watching the case involving Flint.  He was allegedly shot and killed by a CSU police officer.  A university spokesperson said Flint had a gun and was running through on of their student housing complexes refusing to listen to multiple orders from police.

Trevell Battle’s mother is a friend of Flint’s mother.  He thinks the message of justice shared at the demonstration is important.

“It’s important to me because they care about the community and people who has to help other people so it kind of helps me out help the community,” Battles said.

The demonstration remained peaceful.  The Flint case will head to the grand jury in the next few months.
