“Why was she there?” asks Neighbor Maryann Dunigan

She has m any questions after finding out a woman’s body was found floating in the Chattahoochee River along the Riverwalk Wednesday morning.

“I was in the yard when the cops came rolling down the street. So then we came down the street, ” said Dunigan.

“We were down there this morning. We’re basically wondering who’s down there.” wondered Neighbor Jason Kelly,

Muscogee County Coroners Office says there’s no way to determine the cause of death yet.

It could have been accidental or a homicide.

” We’ll thoroughly do an exterior exam of the body to look for any gun shot wounds or stabbing. Any type of blunt force trauma to the head . We’ll also do a toxicology report and check to see if there’s alcohol or drugs in the blood stream,” said Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan.

This area is known as a hangout for the homeless.

In July, a homeless man was killed near this location.

Police say it’s still unknown how Scarbrough died or even if she died at this location.

Maryann Dunigan doesn’t plan to stick around too long after this incident.

“My time is up. It’s time for me to go.So I’m pulling up out here at the end of this month.”

Once investigators get the results from the GBI Crime Lab they will be able to find out more on what happened to Scarbrough.
