COLUMBUS, Ga.- On the heels of the France terror attack is our local government doing anything out of the ordinary in response to better protect us in the Chattahoochee?
That’s a question we asked Mayor Teresa Tomlinson.
She tells News 3 they are always working with the FBI to find out if there are any suspicious radicalized people living in the area.
She also says she has a close working relationship with the folks at the Homeland Security office.
However, she is urging the citizens of Columbus to play a part in preventing terror in the valley too.
She tells News 3 because terror can strike at any time and any place citizens are key to keeping everyone safe.
She says they can keep their eyes peeled and remain vigilant.
She also stresses that citizens should not feel guilty about dialing 9-1-1 if they suspect suspicious behavior.
