A new Walmart Neighborhood Market is coming to Ladonia (across from Ladonia Elementary). The hiring center, located at 3304 US Highway 80 in Phenix City, is hiring 95 people to fill various positions.
Out of those 95 spots, hiring center staff says they’ve filled about one-third of them. Personnel manager Debra Phearson says the store still needs cashiers, stockers and maintenance positions among others.
Nadia Robinson is one of the brand new Walmart employees. She says she got an interview the day after she applied online. Some have even gone through an interview on the spot. Robinson will serve as a fuel tech attendant at the new Neighborhood Market. But she also has bigger plans as well.
“I’ll be able to experience more and meet more people,” Robinson said. “I’ll explore new things and maybe a better chance getting in a higher position like management or something else better for me.”
As part of their Veterans Welcome Home Commitment, Walmart is offering veterans several positions. To learn if you’re eligible, drop by your local veterans resource center.
The hiring center opened about a month ago, but started accepting applications a couple of weeks ago. Recently hired employees are already in orientation. If you’d like to apply, swing by the hiring center:
Hours of Operation: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The new Walmart Neighborhood Market is slated to open later this winter.
