COLUMBUS, Ga.- Wayne Parmer, the homeless man who was found dead last Tuesday in a vacant 23rd Street home was laid to rest Tuesday.
Parmer was given a pauper burial just before 10 a.m. at East Porterdale Cemetery off 10th Avenue.
Muscogee County Coroner, Buddy Bryan said they exhausted all contacts and were unable to find any relatives. However, if relatives come forward, they are able to exhume Parmer and have him buried elsewhere.
The people who showed up to Parmer’s burial said he had a lot of friends.
Tina McClendon was one of those who showed up to the burial. She says he had a lot of friends, but she wonders where they were on Tuesday. She added that if her and her family could pay for a proper burial, they would have paid for Parmer to be buried.
