The Jordan Red Jackets are this week’s Headquarter Nissan Athletes of the Week following their big 41-0 win last Saturday night over Kendrick.
Well the Jordan high football practices have been a lot more upbeat following the team’s 41-nothing win over Kendrick.
Kendrick had won the last four games in a row in that series.
The Red Jackets got outstanding play from Kilpatrick Rogers, D-Andre Snead, and Dontez Scott who all scored touchdowns.
But it was Red Jackets quarterback Romello Kimbrough who led the Jordan team accounting for four touchdowns.
“We are in the same region. It was a big region game. We are shooting for the playoffs. We just wanted to play hard and get the win,” Kimbrough said.
“The guys executed really well both offensively and defensively. And special teams wise, Andreas did a really good job kicking the ball and our guys did a good job executing on the special teams. It was a total team victory,” said head coach Jim Brown.
Now while the offense played extremely well, Coach Brown also wanted to talk about his defense which played lights out and held a good Kendrick offense scoreless for the first time in several years.
“We played really well. You know, that was the first shutout in over five years. Oddly enough, the last time we had a shutout; it was against Kendrick 20-0 back in 2010. I was really proud of the defense. They did a great job,” Brown said.
