Four arrested in connection with theft ring

CHAMBERS COUNTY, Ala. – The Chambers County Sheriff’s Office say they busted up a theft ring and recovered at least $32,000 worth of stolen items with help from Lanett, Valley, and Auburn authorities.

Edwin, Dennis, Jessica Martin, Willie Strickland, and Caleb Abston were all arrested Thursday at a Cusseta home. All were charged with receiving stolen property.

Authorities say a GPS tracker on one of the stolen vehicles led them to the home. Authorities say when they arrived, they witnessed Dennis chopping up an Isuzu landscaping truck that had been reported stolen within the past 12-15 hours.

Authorities also found a Ford F-150 truck, a motorcycle, 4-wheeler, dirt bike, a utility trailer, and several pieces of landscaping equipment like weedeaters and blowers. They’re now in the process of returning the items to their rightful owners
