COLUMBUS, Ga.- Pope Francis arrived in the United States Tuesday afternoon and even though he is not expected to visit Columbus, St. Anne-Pacelli Catholic School is celebrating the arrival during school.
The students at the school have been doing activities such as making Pope Francis puppets, taking their own spin on “Flat Stanley” and making “Flat Francis,” making greeting cards and learning about the Pontiff.
Ian Poole is a freshman at the school and his mother and aunt are traveling to Washington D.C. to see the Pope while he is in the states. He says “it’s going to mean a lot because they’re gonna be there and they’re gonna have stories probably to tell me. It’ll be great because I can now say one of my parents has seen the Pope and president as well. It’ll make me feel really strong as a Catholic knowing that I now have someone who has seen and touched the Pope.”
