HICKMAN COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) – The Hickman County Sheriff’s Department received a call from a frantic mother who accidentally locked her 2-year-old son in her car Tuesday.

The mom reportedly realized what she had done as she was closing the door to the car but it was too late to stop it.

She called 911 and deputies arrived a short time later.

The patrol deputy found the boy sweating inside the car before they busted the window to get him out.

The boy reportedly was given some water and was in good enough spirits to play with the deputies before they had to leave.

The department posted a picture of the smashed window on Facebook. The posted warned of the potential dangers a child can face when left in a vehicle during the last days of summer heat.
