(WKRG) – As the personal and sensitive data from the Ashley Madison hack continues to spill out onto the worldwide web, we’re learning more about 37-million cheaters now exposed in the U.S.
After hackers put the stolen Ashley Madison subscriber list on the dark web, one Reddit user has complied the cheater website’s customers by state — ranking all fifty, including the District of Columbia. The ranking is based on the number of dollars spent per state capita.
Alabama was first by far, followed by Colorado, the District of Columbia, New Jersey and Connecticut.
West Virginia is the most devoted state, according to the list. Strangely, Alabama’s neighbor to the west, Mississippi is the second-most devoted state on the list.
Some Reddit commenters argued that Alabama topped the list for most Ashley Madison registrations because it’s alphabetically listed as the first state when you sign up.
The counter-argument to that would be the list was formed by credit card transactions, so the paper trail must be legitimate. Although, Ashley Madison subscribers are said to commonly use pre-paid cards.
