A clinic that helps local children with autism celebrated the opening of a new location Monday morning in Columbus.

Reaching Milestones held its ribbon cutting ceremony at the new clinic on 54th St. The clinic provides Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services for those with autism.

The treatment programs are designed to reduce challenging behaviors, while teaching social, language and self-help skills.

“We are super excited to be here in Columbus,” Beth Vaughn with Reaching Milestones said.

Reaching Milestones first started in 2004 in Jacksonville, Fl. It now spans eight locations across Florida, South Carolina and Georgia.

ABA is the only treatment method for autism recommended by the U.S. Surgeon General.
