Northern walks off wild winners, forces second game with Peach

The Northern Major Baseball team beat Peach, 11-10 in eight innings, Monday night in the District 8 Tournament finals.

With the win, Northern forces a decisive second game on Tuesday.

With Peach down 9-7 in the sixth, Andrew Albright hit a three-run home run to put them ahead, 10-9, and three outs from a state tournament berth. But in the bottom of the inning, Conner O’Neal scored from third on a passed ball to tie the game and send it to extras.

In the bottom of the eighth, Frank Davis hit a slow roller up the first base line. When it was bobbled, O’Neal came around to score the game-winning run from second base.
