News 3 was on the scene in Warm Springs where the Historic Bulloch House Restaurant was destroyed by a fire early Wednesday morning.

Authorities are still investigating what may have sparked the blaze that left a path of rubble and remains. However, memories of the landmark still stand strong.

We’re told no one was injured in the fire.

According the restaurant’s website, the Bulloch House was built in 1893 by Benjamin F. Bulloch, co-founder of Bullochville, which is now Warm Springs. He, his brother, and a cousin owned and operated Bulloch, Bussey and Company, playing a prominent role in the history and development of the town.

Warm Springs is now most famous for being President Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s popular retreat during his presidency.

In 1990 the Bulloch House was purchased by Judy Foster and Charles and Sylvia Garrett at which time it was renovated into the popular restaurant which opened in November of that year and that many people from across the country visited for nearly 25 years.

Its current owners, Peter and Sandy Lampert, purchased the property in March 2011.
