(AP) – Cullman authorities say a Jefferson County man was severely beaten during a test drive of an SUV he was selling.
Cullman County Sheriff Matt Gentry says 59-year-old Steve Mosley was in critical condition after suffering multiple skull fractures in the beating Friday night. Gentry says Mosley has since been upgraded to stable.
The sheriff says Mosley had parked his 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe in a Morris store parking lot with a for-sale sign in the windshield. He says Mosley arranged to meet a man who wanted to test drive the SUV at 9 p.m. Friday.
Mosley says the man told him they had to meet his father to get the money. When they met up with another vehicle in Culllman, a man got out and he and the other man attacked Mosley.
The SUV is still missing. This is an ongoing investigation. If you have any information in connection to this assault, please notify the Cullman Sheriff’s Office at 256-734-0342.
