UPDATE: 4:38 PM – The bull has been safely removed from the well after his nap during rescue efforts. Boy the bull’s owner Abel Ambrosio Lopez says he suspects Boy jumped a fence and was running off when he fell through the rotted wood covering the 12-foot deep well.

What says “take a nap” more than a 12-foot well? One farm animal decided to do just that after crews worked for hours to rescue it from the well it had fallen into.

Abel Ambrosio Lopez says he was looking for his bull, Boy, on a Fairburn farm south of Atlanta and was surprised to find him at the bottom of the farm’s well. Lopez estimates the bull weighs about 1,500 pounds and has no idea how he managed to get into the approximately 12-foot well unnoticed.

Ambrosio Lopez says Boy seems to be OK and he waited for help to get him out. Emergency responders used a backhoe to dig a bigger hole to allow the animal to walk out; however at that point, Boy decided it was time for some shut eye and didn’t leave once he was able.
