The Republican leader of the Alabama Senate says he believes religious freedom bills that target gays and lesbians are likely dead for the current session.

Senate president pro tempore Del Marsh said today that he did not think the issues would get a floor vote.

The bills would give legal protections to probate judges who refuse to marry gay couples and adoption agencies that refuse gay couples.
