Opelika Police looking for robbery suspects

On December 5th around 3:35 PM, officers of the Opelika Police Department responded to a reported robbery at the Waverly Parkway Convenience Store, 1305 Fitzpatrick Avenue, in Opelika.

Investigation revealed that two suspects entered the store wearing masks. One of the suspects produced a handgun and demanded money from the cashier. The cashier handed them the money from the register. The suspects then fled the building. After exiting the building, the suspect with the handgun fired a shot into the air. The suspects got into a dark colored SUV type vehicle and drove north on Waverly Parkway. The cashier was not hurt during the robbery.

Both suspects were described as having medium builds and wearing dark colored clothing.
